About Us

Zapatka is “almost a native New Mexican” having arrived here in 1966. A Business
Administration graduate from UNM, Mark also has a Masters degree in Human Resource
Management from the University of Phoenix. He has been involved in financial and benefit
planning since 1986. Zapatka received his Chartered Financial Consultant professional
designation from the American College 2000.

Cox, a native of Alamosa, Colorado, and a newer arrival to New Mexico, is a Colorado
State University Business Finance graduate who was drawn to work with investments and
financial planning after experiences in her own family’s trucking business. Jamie received her Chartered Financial Consultant designation from the American College in 2003.

Kristina Herrera has lived in Albuquerque since 1989 and begun her career in the insurance industry at QualMed Plans for Health in 1996. Kristina will be receiving her Associates Degree in Office Technology in the Fall of 2005. As a licensed agent of Axcess Financial Group, Kristina handles the day to day service issues for clients and takes on the sales of individual insurance business. Kristina is also licensed with AFLAC and AHL and is currently targeting the supplemental insurance market.

Zapatka and Cox set up Axcess Financial to help clients “cut through the fluff” about
investments, insurance, retirement planning and employee benefits for both individuals
and businesses.
